November 2022 -  1 students injured on Monday is believed to be at least the second time the “carbon snake experiment” has gone dangerously wrong.  Shortly after 1pm on Monday, emergency services responded to triple-zero calls about children being burnt in an incident involving hazardous materials at Manly West Public School. As of Tuesday morning, 10 out of the 11 injured students had been discharged from hospital. One, who was airlifted on Monday with serious injuries, remained at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.  This is not the first time that a child has been injured as a result of the calling for a ban on the experiment.
